About this piece
Champlevé enamel brass vase on its stand — dragons, blossoms, and one small bird. Two-handled urn vase in brass: enamel flowers ring the neck, and the body carries a bird on a flowering plum branch, all set into the metal over a fine engraved geometric ground. Dragon-head handles at the shoulders. Japanese, 20th century, in the Meiji champlevé tradition. The dark wood stand is attached. Condition: Very good. Enamel bright and intact; brass with a warm, even patina; stand solid. Measures 11" tall including the stand, 7" deep. A mantel or entry-table anchor with real presence — the colors sit deep in the metal, so it reads rich rather than shiny. Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
