About this piece
Hand-painted wooden dome-top chest in the tole folk-art style. Black ground with big hand-painted roses and blooms in pink, red, and gold, a faux-basketweave band across the front, and gilt studded trim along every edge. Metal latch, side handles, black interior. The sides and back are a warm reddish brown. Condition: Very good. Paint bright with light surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. Latch and hinges work well. Measures 13.25" wide x 10" deep x 10" tall. Generous storage for blankets, linens, keepsakes, or craft supplies — and a statement piece on its own in cottage, French country, and folk-art rooms. Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
