About this piece
A rounded rectangular gallery tray frame with pierced interlocking oval sides, fine patterned border bands and two floral-scroll handles. Four relief-decorated cabriole feet give the frame its raised profile and Rococo-style character. The silver-colored metal has dark tarnish and warm brass-colored areas; its composition and any silver plating remain unconfirmed. The center appears open, with an inner ledge and corner supports suggesting a missing glass or mirrored insert. No definite insert or maker's mark is visible in the supplied photographs.
