About this piece
A shallow molded earthenware plate with a turquoise-green architectural landscape in low relief. A large château or palace, trees and foreground figures fill the center, framed by a fluted, scalloped rim with mottled caramel-brown, cream and blue-gray glazes. Display it on a stand or hang it as part of a plate wall. The translucent glaze pools in the relief to create tonal shading consistent with émaux ombrants. The underside has a low circular foot ring, kiln-support scars and an impressed oval mark with readable portions including “FABRIQUE D'EMAUX,” “BREVET D'INVENTION” and “S.G.D.G.” A paper label reads “PEMBROKE ANTIQUES.” Rubelles attribution, date and exact scene remain unconfirmed. Visible wear includes fine surface scratches, small rim nicks and wear to the foot ring. Diameter: 8.75 Height: 1
