About this piece
Silverplate casserole holder frame — pierced gallery sides, scroll handles, and feet worth showing off. Rectangular silver-plated frame with a pierced fretwork gallery, ornate handles at both ends, and four cabriole feet with cast floral detail. Made to hold a standard rectangular casserole dish (dish not included). Later silverplate in the vintage style; a "Made in China" sticker remains on one foot. Condition: Very good. Bright finish with light tarnish in the recesses; sturdy and level. Measures 15" W x 8" L x 3.5" deep (inside); wider across the handles. Two lives: at the table with a casserole, or — as styled by the seller — standing books upright on a shelf, or holding cookbooks open on a kitchen counter. The gallery rail keeps everything in place and the feet lift it like furniture. Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
