About this piece
Vintage hand-painted tole floral wooden box, mid-20th century, American folk art style. The hinged lid is painted with roses, daisies, and forget-me-nots in soft pink, white, blue, and green on a black ground, with gold scrollwork in the corners. The sides are painted gold with a small brass latch on the front. Interior is black-painted wood — clean and ready for keepsakes, documents, photos, or jewelry. Condition: Good vintage condition. Hinges and latch work well. PLEASE NOTE: there is a small white scratch on one side (see photo). Light wear consistent with age otherwise. Measures 15.5" long x 11" wide x 3" tall.
