About this piece
Vintage Toyo pumpkin-form lidded jar, made in China, circa 1980s–1990s. This charming pumpkin-shaped canister is hand-painted with pears, peaches, and leaves in soft pink, blue-green, and gold, with a gold stem handle and leaf finial on the lid. The body is white glazed ceramic with a scalloped rim; the interior is clean white glaze. Underside bears the gold Toyo "Made in China" sticker, a blue character maker's mark, and the red "Not for food use" stamp typical of Chinese decorative ware of the period — this is a display piece, not for food storage. Condition: Very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Light wear spots on the rim consistent with age (see photos). A perfect fall accent for a kitchen shelf, mantel, or autumn tablescape — beautiful styled with dried florals or greenery, or as a cookie jar for wrapped treats. Carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
