About this piece
An Italian-made glazed ceramic parrot bearing the British National Trust Collection by Chelsea House Port Royal mark. Hand-painted green plumage is accented with yellow-orange wing feathers, a mauve breast, and a dark-striped tail. The bird perches on a flowering white tree stump above three pink-accented scroll feet. Relief-modeled feathers and claws complement the raised flowers and leaves, with a glossy glaze across the decorated surface. The scrolling base recalls European rococo ornament. The underside bears both an Italy inscription and a Made in Italy label, together with three green felt pads. Height: 8 Width: 4
