About this piece
A large, rounded decorative bowl with oversized yellow six-petaled flowers outlined in dark lines against an olive-green ground. The bright yellow interior continues over a thick, uneven rim. The flattened base is painted green, without a distinct foot ring. Textured walls and visible brushwork suggest handmade papier-mâché or molded paper pulp beneath an opaque, glossy painted finish; the underlying material cannot be confirmed from photographs. Light surface marks are visible inside. The floral decoration has a folk-art, flower-power character. No date, maker or place of origin has been established. Diameter: 8 Height: 4
