About this piece
A small oval tabletop cachepot with deeply fluted, outward-flaring sides and a scalloped rim. Engraved fern-like sprays alternate with plain panels. Two loose ring handles and four stylized paw feet complete the form. The metal appears to be brass, with dark brown tarnish and brighter golden areas inside. The interior contains substantial residue and green patches. A separate flat bottom plate is stamped INDIA; additional faint characters are not clear enough to identify. Maker and manufacturing date remain unconfirmed. Length: 7 Width: 5 Height: 3
