About this piece
Pair of blue-and-white ceramic bowls with broadly flared, rounded bodies, plain white interiors and raised ring feet banded in cobalt blue. Flowering plum branches on white panels alternate with reserved bamboo leaves and snow-like lattice motifs against deep blue grounds. The glossy white ceramic appears to be porcelain. The decoration is consistent with Japanese sometsuke/Arita-style tableware; maker, origin and date are unconfirmed. The photographed undersides are glazed and unmarked. Diameter: 5 Height: 2.5
