Two parakeets needlepoint picture in rustic faux-bois wood frame

Rectangular needlepoint picture depicting two long-tailed parakeets perched among leafy branches. Ochre-and-cream wings, green bodies and blue tails sit against a densely stitched cream ground, surrounded by blue-green foliage. The canvas work appears hand-stitched; the textile fibers are unconfirmed. Set behind glass in a dark wooden faux-bois frame with bark-like grooves, projecting cross-corner rails and applied carved leaves at three corners. A gold-finished inner liner borders the needlework. The rustic, naturalistic framing is consistent with Victorian and Aesthetic Movement styling; its date is unverified. Visible wear includes chips and rubbed finish on the frame, spotting and finish loss on the gold liner, and exposed canvas along the lower textile edge.
